Chocolate. To keep this chocolate candy treat vegan, you’ll need 10 ounces of dairy-free semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips.
Raisins. you’ll want to buy fresh, preferably organic, sun-ripened raisins for the best tasting chocolate raisin clusters.
This homemade chocolate candy recipe might be one of the easiest recipes on the Healthy Little Vittles blog! Made with just 2 ingredients and in just 30 minutes, you’ll be skipping the store-bought candy for this homemade recipe.
First, melt the chocolate chips. You can do this in the microwave or using the double broiler method via stovetop.
Next, add the raisins, stir to coat all the raisins in the melted chocolate.
Spoon a tablespoon amount onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes until set and enjoy!
Using fresh, plump raisins will make the tastiest treat. If your raisins are a bit on the dry side, you can easily plump them up using one of these methods:
To soak the raisins, place them in a bowl or jar and cover the raisins with water. Cover and place in the refrigerator for 1-3 days, allowing the raisins to plump. This is the best method for the most plump raisins, however, it does take the longest so you’ll need quite a bit of planning ahead of time.
