An easier-than-they-look popsicle recipe perfect for summer at home with the kids! These Vegan Abstract Yogurt Popsicles are made with just 4-ingredients and are a healthy treat for hot summer days.
In today’s post we’re talking all about painting with popsicles! Ok, so we’re not actually going to paint with them, although that would be pretty cool, but we certainly are going to be channeling our inner Picasso today. Hang on, before I lose all the “non-artistic” people, I promise these Vegan Abstract Yogurt Popsicles are much easier than they look. Cross my heart.
The thing about art is it’s unique to everyone to creatively express who they are. I believe it’s one of God’s gifts that holds such emotional power to unify us. It’s a way for us to de-stress, and allow us introverts who can’t always express ourselves with words to communicate our feelings. Why am I talking about this? Well, because friends- these popsicles are going to be unique to everyone, all beautiful in their own ways, and I sure do hope you will tag me on Instagram with all your Vegan Abstract Yogurt Popsicle artwork!
Have you ever been to one of those wine and paint classes? We all paint the same picture, and yet everyone’s paintings look different. But the teacher will explain to you just how to paint it so that even the least artsy of artists can participate. So here we go, grab your glass of wine if you wish and let’s just get right to it. You ready?!
Ok, so you make your yogurt mixture first. I buy dairy-free, unsweetened, plain yogurt but you can use whatever kind you like really, as long as it’s white in color. You can even make your own at home (something I need to do soon for the blog, eh?). You’ll combine that with coconut cream, vanilla, maple or agave syrup, and then divide the mixture into six small bowls. Then, whisk in one Supercolor Powder (I buy mine from Suncore Foods) per bowl. Get your popsicle mold ready (stick the popsicle sticks into the molds first), and then let the creativity fly!
Haha, yes of course I’ll tell you my method! So I took a small spoonful of each colored yogurt and dolloped it into each popsicle mold, next to each other, overtop of the popsicle stick. You can pick whatever colors you’d like, but in these popsicles I chose to use red beet powder, matcha powder, carrot powder, pink pitaya powder, blue spirulina powder, and purple carrot powder (all from Suncore Foods).
Then you just pop them in the freezer until hard and enjoy! These Vegan Abstract Yogurt Popsicles didn’t turn out exactly how I envisioned them, but that’s the fun thing about art. Even if I made them again they would come out differently. I happen to think they turned out beautifully, maybe it’s the wine talking 😉 and they taste pretty darn yummy too! Perfect for these hot summer days we’re having.
I wish we could have wine and “paint” these popsicles together in person, maybe someday I’ll create a virtual class- but until then please share away using #HealthyLittleVittles on Instagram! So you go ahead, put your painter cap on and have some fun!
