This easy Cranberry Clementine Smoothie is vegan, naturally sweetened, and made with whole fresh cranberries. A bright, refreshing smoothie perfect for winter mornings or a healthy snack and a perfect way to add more fresh cranberries into your diet!

I bought a bag of fresh cranberries with plans to use them in another recipe over the holidays and with all the hustle and bustle that comes with the season, I just didn’t get around to it! 😅 But I’m not a fan of wasting food, so I decided to make a smoothie with them, and gosh, it was a hit! I made this smoothie twice in one day (because I didn’t like the original photos) but my kids didn’t even let me have any of the second batch- they love it so much! 🍊🩷

Fresh cranberries are often overlooked outside of sauces and baking, but they are also great in smoothies! This Cranberry Clementine Smoothie is bright, refreshing, and balanced—tangy but not overpowering—thanks to the natural sweetness of banana, clementine, and maple syrup.

Smoothie Ingredients

Fresh, whole cranberries. Bring that bright, tart flavor that makes this smoothie refreshing and vibrant, plus they give it that beautiful pink color.

Frozen banana. Naturally sweetens everything and helps make the smoothie thick & creamy and smooth.

Clementine. Adds just the right amount of citrusy sweetness without overpowering the cranberries, keeping the flavor light and balanced.

Unsweetened plant milk. Helps everything blend easily and keeps the smoothie dairy-free. I used soy milk, but oat milk also makes it extra creamy. If you prefer a lighter smoothie, almond milk would be a good option.

Maple syrup. Lets you adjust the sweetness to your taste, especially if your cranberries are extra tart.

Vanilla extract. Rounds out the flavors and adds a little warmth that ties everything together.

Ice. Chills and thickens the smoothie, giving it that refreshing, frosty texture you expect from a good smoothie. Only add ice if you desire a more chilled smoothie than what the frozen banana offers.

Instructions

Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender, starting with the milk. Blend until completely smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed. Add more plant milk to thin or ice to thicken and chill, then blend again. Serve immediately.

Tips for the Best Texture & Flavor

  • If your cranberries are especially tart, freezing them first can slightly mellow their sharpness and improve the smoothie’s texture.
  • A very ripe banana is key for natural sweetness and creaminess, so don’t skip it.
  • For a colder smoothie, be sure to freeze the banana the night before. Alternatively, you may use a fresh banana and ice.

Optional Variations

You can easily customize this smoothie depending on your preferences:

  • Add a tablespoon of chia seeds or ground flax for fiber.
  • Make it extra creamy with a scoop of coconut yogurt.
  • Turn it into a smoothie bowl by reducing the plant milk to 1/2-3/4 cup.

With just a handful of simple ingredients, you get a refreshing, nutrient-packed smoothie that’s as beautiful as it is delicious—perfect for using up seasonal cranberries in a fresh, modern way.
