This 6-ingredient Vegan Alfredo Sauce is rich and creamy and is the closest to real alfredo sauce I’ve had yet! No plant-butter is needed, just coconut oil, coconut butter, unsweetened dairy-free yogurt, coconut milk, homemade vegan parmesan cheese, salt and pepper! And the best part is it’s ready for any pasta dish or casserole in just 15 minutes! Also gluten-free and grain-free.
I’ve had some pretty great vegan Alfredo sauces over the years, but I’m going to have to say this one is my all-time favorite and tastes pretty darn close to the buttery, creamy, real cheesy version that I’ve had yet! This Easy Vegan Alfredo Sauce is rich, so while it might seem like you don’t have enough, I assure you it will be plenty to toss in your next pasta dish or in a casserole! Ooo, I need to do that asap!
This Easy Vegan Alfredo Sauce recipe really is easy! With just 6 simple ingredients you can have this sauce whipped up in just 15 minutes! The ah-ha moment happened when I decided to try to use my new culinary obsession-coconut butter in the sauce! It adds some richness to the alfredo that I think might be missing in some other vegan alfredo recipes.
The other ingredients in this Easy Vegan Alfredo Sauce recipe include: ☆ coconut oil ☆ coconut milk ☆ garlic ☆ unsweetened dairy-free yogurt ☆ my Homemade Vegan Parmesan Cheese ☆ salt & pepper That’s it! No flour needed unless you like your alfredo sauce really thick, but I think this alfredo sauce is the perfect consistency.
I used this Easy Vegan Alfredo Sauce in my Rutabaga Alfredo recipe and it was perfect! Feel free to swap out the coconut milk with another plant milk if it’s too rich, but I would definitely include the coconut butter (not to be confused with coconut oil or regular plant butter). The only thing you’ll have to be a little careful of is the coconut butter burning in the skillet. Make sure you have your plant milk ready to whisk in the skillet before adding the coconut butter. I also like to blend my final sauce to make it even creamier and get rid of any lumps, but that’s not necessary if you don’t feel like adding that step. I hope you enjoy this Easy Vegan Alfredo Sauce for your next pasta night, and don’t forget to tag me on Instagram or Facebook with all your alfredo sauce creations! #HealthyLittleVittles

Ingredients
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons coconut butter
1 can coconut milk
1/4 cup unsweetened dairy-free yogurt
1/4 cup vegan parmesan cheese (see below for homemade)
salt & pepper to taste
Homemade Vegan Parmesan Cheese
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
If you don't already have your vegan parmesan cheese on hand (which I recommend having at all times!), go ahead and blend all ingredients in your blender/food processor until you have a fine, Parmesan Cheese-like texture.
Store any extra not used in this recipe in an airtight container either in your pantry or in the fridge.
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the coconut oil.
Add the minced garlic and saute until it starts to turn golden.
Measure out your yogurt and open your coconut milk to have them ready.
Whisking continuously, add the coconut butter and whisk for about 30 seconds- 1 minute until it starts to turn golden.
Whisk in the yogurt and coconut milk.
Add the vegan parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper and continue to heat until it starts to bubble then lower the heat to low whisking occasionally.
OPTIONAL: For extra creamy sauce, blend it on high in your blender until smooth.
