It seems like my food craving haven’t really caught up to the season… I’ve been craving a lot of the “fall foods” lately, and I know that it doesn’t have to be fall to enjoy them, but my fall-inspired cravings have been pretty intense. Take for instance this Apple Cinnamon Pecan Granola. I suppose it doesn’t have to be a fall recipe but I just get such cozy fall vibes from it.
If you can imagine a warm, sweet, apple cinnamon aroma filling your house right now, that’s what I’m smelling and I don’t care if it’s the middle of winter, it is sure to become a staple in my house for a few reasons: it’s easy to make, it’s freaking delicious, and it makes for one easy and nutrient packed breakfast. I am sure I could come up with more reasons to love this granola, like that it’s sweetened with maple syrup, it requires 1 bowl and only 20 minutes of bake time, as mentioned before- it makes my house smell amazing… yadda yadda yadda.
So what makes this Apple Cinnamon Pecan Granola different than other granolas you ask? Well for one, if you haven’t made homemade granola, it’s soooo worth it. I know it’s easier to grab a bag at the store, but with how simple it is and what little time it takes to make it at home (and then you know what’s really going into it anyway) I highly suggest you try it. And two- I mean there’s granola and then there’s graaannooolllaaa. Ok, I’m not really sure what I mean by that, but just trust me- this is like no other granola you’ve had. Thirdly, I love to eat this granola as cereal. I am not sure why I never think to eat other granolas, you know- the store bought kind, as cereal but oh emm gee is it so yummy with almond milk.
I’m not quite sure how else to express to you my love for this homemade Apple Cinnamon Pecan Granola and the amazing fragrance my house has right now, but I vote you go ahead and make it for youself and you’ll see what I mean wink. Don’t forget to tag me if you make it! I love to see your recreations on Instagram and Facebook!
In a large bowl mix together all the dry ingredients, then add the wet ingredients. Stir to combine well
Pour out onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 20 minutes.
**NOTE: Toss it a couple times and keep an eye on it, it may burn easily
Notes
**NOTE: the granola will crisp up as it cools. Don't be tempted to over bake it as it will burn
