Description

These adorable Melted Snowman White Chocolates are a fun and easy craft and a fun holiday treat to make with your kids! You only need dairy-free white chocolate, coconut oil, large vegan marshmallows, chocolate chips and orange food coloring to make this winter sweet treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 oz bag of dairy-free white chocolate chips (affiliate link) (I used the Enjoy Life brand-mini chips)
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil
  • 9 oz bag of dairy-free dark chocolate chips (I used the Enjoy Life brand-regular size)
  • 1 bag of large vegan marshmallows
  • plant-based orange food coloring

Instructions

First, add a piece of wax or parchment paper to a baking sheet.

Next, add white chocolate chips to a small bowl with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and melt in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stir, and add back in the microwave 5 seconds at a time until melted and smooth.*

With a spoon, spread the white chocolate into a puddle-like blob. Don’t spread the chocolate too thin or it will break when you peel it off the wax/parchment paper.

Add a large marshmallow to the top of the white chocolate blob.

Add 3 dark chocolate chips as the buttons underneath the marshmallow, not all in a row, because remember this is a melting snowman and we want to give the impression of it being melted 🙂 .

Place a little bit of melted white chocolate on the back of 2 chocolate chips and place those on the marshmallow as the eyes. You can dot the chocolate chips with melted white chocolate for pupils with a toothpick.

Melt 2-3 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips with ½ teaspoon of coconut oil and use the melted chocolate and a toothpick to draw stick arms on the white chocolate blob.

Dot melted dark chocolate on the marshmallow with a toothpick for the mouth.

Melt 2-3 tablespoons of white chocolate chips in a bowl with 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. Add 1-2 drops of orange food coloring and use the mixture to make carrot noses on the marshmallows with a toothpick (or fine paintbrush), making the carrot nose thicker at the top and thinner toward the end.

Repeat as desired until everything is used up or melt more chocolate and repeat for however many you'd like to make. Allow them to cool to set up. Then gently peel off the wax/parchment paper when ready to enjoy! Store in an airtight container on your counter.

Notes

* I saw this cute idea posted by Foodbites and I had to make them with my kids! I adapted them to be vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free.

** don't melt the chocolate chips too long or it'll cook them and your chocolate will be lumpy.
