Description
This homemade 5-Minute Vegan Hot Fudge Sauce is smooth and creamy, thick, and perfectly decadent! It only takes 5 minutes to make, uses only 6 ingredients: sunflower seed butter, vegan butter, raw cacao powder, date syrup, coconut milk, and pure vanilla extract.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup vegan butter (I used Miyoko’s brand)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened sunflower seed butter
- 1/2 cup date syrup*
- 1/3 cup raw cacao powder (or cocoa powder, unsweetened)
- 1 can coconut milk, solid part only**
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
Simply combine everything in a small saucepan and heat the pan on the stove over medium heat. Whisk the mixture constantly and melt everything together until it bubbles (not quite a boil) and thickens. Remove from heat and use right away or pour into a glass jar and allow it to sit on your countertop to cool to room temperature or use it right away like traditional hot fudge sauce.
Keep the jar of hot fudge sauce covered and stored in a cool, dry place for up to a week. If you want to refrigerate it and keep it stored in the fridge for a longer period of time you may do so, but it will harden so you will need to reheat it to soften it.
Notes
*may use maple syrup instead of date syrup, but the date syrup is a bit thicker and more robust which helps give the fudge that nice rich flavor and color.
**It helps to place the can of coconut milk in the fridge overnight to harden the solid part from the liquid.
